Wood, like stone, is one of the materials that man has found in nature since the beginning of his existence and which he immediately used in many ways to meet the needs of life, first of all survival.

Wood, in fact, was a precious ally of primitive man as a tool to defend himself, to get food, to light the fire with which to heat and cook, to create the first furnishings. With wood, man built the first shelters, and then came to build real huts on the water, the stilts. Taking advantage of a fundamental characteristic of wood, the ability to float, he managed to create boats (at the beginning rudimentary canoes obtained by digging the logs) and later, thanks to the discovery of the wheel, to build wagons to move on land.

It can therefore be said that woodworking was one of the first arts of man, more and more refined and perfected over the centuries, until it reached the execution of the complex structures of the current era.

Today wood, which, as mentioned, has played a fundamental role in the development of human civilization, is still the protagonist: in fact, every man feels an instinctive attraction for wood, because it is a living, natural material; everything that is made of wood, a floor, a staircase, a piece of furniture, immediately creates an atmosphere of intimacy and warmth.

Wood is an indestructible material, which changes appearance and color over time but acquires beauty, value and meaning.
The reuse of ancient wood, in fact, allows us to regain possession of the past, to relive history, to think that we are using something that has already been appreciated and enjoyed before us. A ceiling embellished with antique wooden beams, an antique parquet, a boiserie or an antique wooden table warm us, “pamper us”, express the continuity between us and the past.

Consequently, recovered wood, the one already used to build mountain huts, cabins, chalets, palaces, today represents one of the most interesting products in the wood market, offering the possibility of reviving it in new, engaging and fascinating aspects.
